How We Keep Children Safe Every Day

Your child’s health and safety come first, and any place (and anyone) caring for them should feel the same way.

Across our learning centers, we don’t treat safety like a checklist we complete and move on from. It’s part of how we show up every day, in the classroom and behind the scenes.

Preparing Before It Matters

Every staff member goes through health and safety training as part of their orientation. That includes how to respond to emergencies, how to keep the environment safe, and how to handle situations calmly and thoughtfully as they come up.

We put a lot of emphasis on being ready before something happens, not scrambling after the fact.

CPR and First Aid Training

When children are in our care, our teachers and administrative staff are the ones who respond first in an emergency.

Because of that, all staff are required to be trained and certified in CPR and first aid within their first 90 days. This training ensures that if something happens, there is always someone close by who knows what to do and can act quickly.

And we don’t treat this as a one-time requirement. CPR training is revisited regularly, including refreshers every 90 days. These sessions cover infant CPR child CPR, and adult CPR, along with common emergency situations, so skills stay sharp and staff feel confident using them when it matters most.

Recognition of Child Abuse

Everyone in our learning centers is a mandated reporter, which means if something feels off, we’re required to act.

We take that responsibility seriously, too. This training helps staff understand what to look for and what appropriate next steps to take, so they can respond clearly and advocate for the children in our care.

Staying Ahead of Illness

While getting sick is a natural, normal part of growing up, we make it a priority to limit the spread of illness in our classrooms. Our staff are trained to understand how germs spread and what to do when they do. That includes following proper cleaning protocols, managing symptoms in the classroom, and keeping parents informed about any steps we’ve taken.

Why We Keep Training

When it comes to caring for children, there’s no room to get complacent.

We know families are trusting us with something incredibly important when they place their child in our care, and that’s not something we take lightly. Keeping children safe takes vigilance, consistency, and a team that knows what to do without hesitation.

Because best practices change and evolve, everyone needs refreshers to keep them familiar with how to respond in the best possible way in any situation.
